The Big Flower

The Big Flower, originally uploaded by papalars.
My friend Andrew who is a Christian Pastor is also an extraordinary photographer and has not only traveled the world but he and his wife have lived in many parts of the world.
This photo of the Buenos Aires, :Floralis Generica sculpture Andy reports is made out of steel and the petals are made out of aluminum. The sculpture opens and closes it's petals in the morning and in the evening to the sun just as a real flower would. The flower sculpture was a gift from argentine architect Eduardo Catalano.

I love this sculpture and would love to lay in the middle of it's petals when they open... Perhaps even sleep safely in them as they close too ;^}}

You can find Andy's photo's on his Flickr at papalars ~
